• Mobile broadband in Emerald 3782 and Sandringham 3191

    Hi,

We are looking for mobile broadband to use in Emerald 3782 and Sandringham 3191. It’s mainly used for emails and occasional downloads - between 2GB & 4GB per month. I am currently with MY3, we used to buy 12GB for 12 months but they no longer offer this. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Rita

  • Looking for a provider with flexible billing and Australian customer service

Hello I'm with Dodo until August, and would like to swap, providers' and have a house billing, rather then credit card payments. I would also like to call a company based in Australia. Thanks, Stephen.

  • What is the best broadband plan that includes calls to mobiles, landlines and overseas?

    Hi,
What is the best plan for me? I prefer a bundle; I require a minimum of 5GB per month, line rental included, unlimited calls to STD numbers and cheap calls to Mauritius and England and Australian mobiles. I prefer to pay less than $100 per month and would like fast speed. Please provide 3 choices.

    Thank you,
    Lois

  • What is the set up process for broadband; what do I need to know? Hi, I'm uncertain about how setup goes so don't know what I need to look for in a plan. Could you please assist me? Thanks, Linden

  • Do I need to get a landline before applying for an internet connection?

    Hi,

I'm moving into a 1 bedroom unit next week. I will need to organise an ADSL 2+ connection as I will be using the internet for work and personal purposes and will be getting a laptop. Not sure how to organise connection? Do I need a land line in order to get internet first? How do I know if my unit has a landline? I don’t need a home phone though as I use my mobile. I assume I will need a modem... Actually I have no idea what i'm doing... Sorry, i'm really clueless! Help!

    Thanks,

    Hanh

  • What is the difference between ADSL, ADSL2 and naked broadband?

  • Hi,

I am looking for a new internet providor but was hoping to get away with not having to connect a home phone in order to do it. I currently have a plan with 120gb a month which is more than adequate. This is a cable service with Optus but I am no longer happy with their service. According to the NBN mapping my are will not get it for at least 3 years so until then that is not an option. Thoughts on wireless options would be appreciated or would it be a cheaper and better option to bite the bullet and get the phone connected.

  • I have recently purchased a house in Bayswater North, Victoria and was looking to get broadband connected. Unfortunetly it looks like they classify the area as regional with internet plans more than double the cost of anywhere else with considerable lower download quotas for the price than anyone outside the area.

There is a phone line but not a phone connection in the house. that is my quandry.Everyone seems to want me to be on a fixed line contract before even looking at seeing what internet i can get and won't guarantee any sort of reasonable connection afterwards.

I can see myself on a phone contract but no internet if i am not careful.Furthermore at plan prices at almost double to 4km down the road there seems to be a lack of affordable reasonable plans for where i live. The BAWN exchange is classified as off net so i cannot even get naked DSL there it seems. So are there any reasonable plans available at this exchange that don't require me to be locked into a fixed line phone contract before even discussing if i can get the internet there

  • Do I need NBN to keep my home phone line?

    Hi,

I currently have intenet via iiNet @ $50.00 per month (which is really quite expensive for me) & a landline phone with Telstra. I receive the age pension from Centrelink. NBN cables are currently going into my street. I really don't need fast internet or all the other extras being offered, but understand that I will need an NBN connection to keep my phone. I am not sure what to do - stay with iiNet, or go with Telstra, or other options. to use - to stay with iiNet or use Telstra, or what to do?

    Thanks!

    Annette

  • I Need Unbundled DSL - But no Telstra!

    Hi there...

  • Internet, home phone and mobile for $90 and under per month

    Hi,

I have been with Telstra for almost 2 years and I’m thinking of changing to a cheaper plan with home phone/internet and mobile. I’m currently paying $170 a month for all 3 and included is 200GB, home line rental, mobile $600 calls and texts (I only use no more than $200 of that) and 1G.

    Thanks,

    Rachael

  • What provider has the best bundle prices + relocation fees?

I have signed up to Bigpond ASDL2+ back in July 2012, since Nov 2012 I have been complaining of slow speed in the morning, though out the day into late evening. They have finally agreed after much discussion and will release me from my contract. The reason why I joined Bigpond is that I have internet TV and that they have a good relocation policy. However my son now needs high speed internet for an on line course. Can you please advise if you can guarantee ADSL2+ with home phone bundle to (Phone Number Withdrawn). With either 6 month or good relocation package as we are renting.

  • Young renters looking for a cheap and easy plan

    Hi!

I am moving out of home for the first time into an apartment with a friend. I'd like to have a lot of data - 500gb to unlimited preferably, as both of us do download a bit. I'm unsure which company to use despite this website. Club Telco and Dodo are the cheapest, and Club Telco does month-to-month contracts which appeals, but both companies get terrible reviews. TPG seems to be the best option, although a bit more expensive. Are Club Telco reliable or are we better off paying a bit extra and going with TPG?

    Thanks,

    Ingrid

  • I Need About 200GB a Month - Wireless

    Hi,

I need a plan for downloading and will be using a bit of data to download movies, TV shows and music. I'm told about 200gb a month. I am a bit of a novice so what I basically want is a wireless connection (one that both my wife and I can use our separate laptops with) that I don't have to stick the dongle into the side of the laptop. We don't have a phone line either and have no need for one. So what exactly do I get? I'm not what it actually is that I have to order. Also I believe I need a separate modem to plug in. How do I get this. Can you please suggest some plans?

    Many thanks,

    Rory

  • Hi,

Could you tell me what the set-up fee for the $79.99 bundle is for? The cost of the router delivery is $10.00, correct? This new connection will be in Glenhaven, Sylvan Grove. Do you operate from that area? Do you have a bundle for two mobiles pre-paid, what is the cost per minute and is there a flagfall? Do you have a bundle for Foxtel as well? Thank you.

    Thanks,

    Joe

  • Changing from Telstra to a new home phone and broadband bundle

    Hi,

I am looking to change from Telstra Bigpond early March when current contract expires. How does your coverage rate in my area? 6 Kindarun Close Niagara Park NSW 2250. I would be considering the broadband plus home phone 6 monthly plan. Between 10-20GB.

    Thanks,

    James

  • What are my broadband options in Rural NSW?

    Hi,

I would like Internet service to a property at Deep Creek 2440. Coverage maps show wireless availability but mobile phone service requires a 1.2m external antenna. A phone line is installed but Telstra advise it will not support even dial-up services and ADSL is not available. Our current plan is 5Gb per month of which we use around 2Gb. Can Optus offer Internet services to this location?

    Thanks,

    Graham

  • High data user looking for broadband

    Hello,

I am trying to find the best deal to get Wi - Fi internet. It would be to support up to 2 laptops and 2 mobile phones, for up to 8 hours per day including downloading videos and tv shows. I am guessing i would need to get unlimmited internet. Could someone give me suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Sam

  • Naked DSL + VoIP in Wollstonecraft

    Hi,

I'm moving to Wollstonecraft in 2 weeks and am looking for naked broadband with landline & voip. Speed, data limits, voip channel and freecalls are important. would prefer no shaping. Please let me know my best options :-)

    Thanks,

    Sally

  • What will happen to existing contracts under the NBN?

    Hi,

What will happen to existing contracts such as 24 months when the fibre system comes on line? I have Telstra Bigpond ADSL with a phone bundle and suffer many drop outs from congestion. Would wireless be better in this case? I had Internode wireless before Telstra. Better customer service and no drop outs. Perhaps a wireless broadband, get rid of the land line and all Telstras charges completely on a O monthly arrangement until fibre comes in. Does this make sense? I am like many others, bewildered by the techo terms used and cannot put it all together.

    Thanks,

    Geoff

  • I'm a pensioner and I need broadband with no contract

    Hi,

I wish to have an internet connection without the 24 months contract and also without bundling. Currently I am with Clubtelco that charges a $50.00 club membership fee and on top of this charges a late payment fee of $10.00 and if not paid incur interest. I consider this illegal similar to the late fee charge by Banks. Dodo has also attempted to charge me for not service provided. I am a pensioner and only use the Net for emails to family overseas and occasional research. Very minimal use. Can you suggest a provider that can provide a service without a contract and without all extra illegal charges.

    Thanks,

    Mary

  • What's the difference between Naked DSL and ADSL2+

    Hi,

I need ADSL2+ and home phone. Not sure what the difference is between naked and ADSL. I want to be able to have unlimited download and I need to rely on being able to connect at all times.

    Thanks,

    Gwendoline

  • What is a shared line and can I get internet?

    Hi,

I have recently moved to Sydenham Road, Sydenham. Is there any one that can provide decent internet connection? I have contacted TPG, Optus, Telstra, iPrimus, but no luck? Could you help me with this? Everyone says something about shared line etc.

    Thanks,
    Avani

  • Can't get Optus lines?

    Hi,

We currently have a buddy box with Dodo. We want a fixed line home phone and internet but have been told our phone connection is with Telstra and as Dodo use Optus we can't have their $29.90 plan which would suit us. Can you tell us what is the cheapest plan that would suit our needs that use a Telstra connection. Apparently Warrandyte where we live is categorised as regional as opposed to metropolitan and Optus doesn't service our area.

    Thanks,

    Gay

  • What is the best provider for low contracts, reasonable data and the phone line is not necessary?

    Hi,

We are new to Sydney and trying to find a plan that suits out needs. We have a household of 5 so were wanting about 20mb, a phone line isn't necessary. We may only be at this address for 6-12 months so don't want a long term contract. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,

    Thanks,

    Jayme

  • Is TPG Unlimited really 'Unlimited'?

    Hi,

I need the TPG unlimited bundled plan, 1. Does unlimited for home mean truly unlimited or is there a cap there? 2. Does bundled deal inlcude the phone, rental and the modem? 3.Is the contract for six months or for a year?

    Thanks,

    Waseem

  • Does 'more expensive' mean 'better'?

    Hi,

I am looking to arrange broadband ADSL2+ with home phone. My question is why do the various plans range in price with no real link to the amount of Data included. Do you get better customer support and internet speed from the more expensive providers?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • Can't get TPG out in Hillside, VIC

    Hi,

I'm moving house to Hillside, VIC and am looking for my best broadband option. I am currently connected with TPG but was told they cannot transfer my existing ADSL2+ to our new place. My current plan is at $60/month unlimited. TPG told me I need to apply for a home phone before I can apply for a new connection but won;t be unlimited anymore. I haven't applied for any telephone connection yet as I would like to get the best option for me. I'm looking for an unlimited plan but I reckon I won't exceed 500GB usage per month. Please can you help me or suggest the best plan I can get?

    Thanks,

    Joey

  • Is a cable connection faster than DSL? Is it more reliable?

  • The NBN is coming in 3 years...what can I get now?

    Hi,

Which companies offer broad band to South Australian country areas. My area is going to be upgraded to NBN. Construction is suppose to start in 3 years. In the meantime, which retailers can I appoarch. Mobile coverage isn't strong in the area either in the town of Saddleworth, SA.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

  • Why is Naked DSL the same prices as ADSL + Home Phone?

    Hi,

I'm looking for a plan of fast 50GB to 100GB with no home phone line. I looked at some deals and as soon as i tried to sign up they needed a home phone number. As soon as you look at 'naked' deals it almost seems like a good idea to sign up for a home phone....it might be cheaper that way. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Paula

  • Hi,

I'm sick and tired of present ISP. Want change. Not fussed on home phone anymore- have two mobiles with Telstra. Sick to death of s-l-o-w- ADSL offered by existing ISP. We pay for 1500 kbps and your test shows 130kbps download and 105 kbps upload. Also we want a plan for the future, which includes us being able to be on the move, so would prefer pay as you go broadband (using portable laptops.) Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Barry

  • What are my options in Rural Victoria?

I am moving to a location in Leongatha (South Gippsland, Vic) that has ADSL2 connected (current occupants with Iprimus as provider - Telstra supply) I am looking to better our current financial burden of internet and phone. Currently, in Yanakie, South Gippsland, we have had limited choices... Telstra phone plans (landline $49.90 + mobile $20 plan) and satellite broadband (2GB/4GB shaped $49.95)... + phone costs generally around $40-$50 (mostly STD & mobile calls - average cost around $1 with the odd call costing heaps more). I need help in unravelling all the differences between providers and plans to get the best and cheapest plan possible for a combination of internet and phone... Viop or combination? Hoping to spend no more than $80 per month in total...

    Hoping you can help me,

    Regards, Marianne

How can I get low cost Internet connection for my holiday house at inverloch for 2months without a lengthy contract?

  • How do other ISPs get me a connection on a Telstra line?

I live in Port Macquarie NSW. Telstra provides the line infrastructure here. Optus cannot give me a home line & broadband bundle because of this. Are the other ISPs like Internode & TPG etc able to provide me with a home line & broadband bundle service here in Port Macquarie? If so why?

  • Are Dodo ripping me off by not providing Naked DSL?

    Hi,

I am a heavy internet user, I signed up with Dodo last year on the ADSL2 unlimited broadband package $69.90/m that came with home phone, now I told them I didnt want home phone and they said the nude plan was $99 and they didn't really give me much option. I insisted no phone and to this day still don't have one. A month after signing up they dropped the nude plan to $39.90, I tried to call up and change to this and at this point I realised they had screwed me, cause they told me unless I paid for a whole new plan there was nothing they could do. Personally I am in customer service and I know there is always something you can do. Now is there a plan that you could give me at a reasonable price and would support my internet needs, that could convince me to cancel with Dodo and come over to you?

    Thank you,

    Kim

  • Telstra told me I can now get ADSL2+...is that right?

    Hi,

we have been renting a unit in Shoal Bay, NSW for approx 5 years. And in that time we have been unable to recieve ADSL internet to our location. We have been told by Telstra that we could have it in march 2012, however after hours of speaking with an operator and required equipment not arriving. it turned out we had been misinformed. Can we get ADSL?

    Thanks,

    Matt and Nath

  • I would like everything, cheap, with no contract, and wireless, and...

I am moving into a place with only a 7 month lease. I don't need a phone or do I want to pay Telstra for line rental. I would like to contact friends through skype and face book, I don't have a modem. I have a mac computer and an apple mobile phone with amaysim which does not work for me in North Balwyn. I am moving to Kew Melbourne and would like to have internet access throughout my apartment as well as good phone coverage. I would also like to know how to access my personal hot spot on my phone. I need help to get it all connected as well. If I have to commit to a years contract, can I take my connection with me? Also does this mean I have to change my e mail address?

    Kind regards,

    Marieke

  • No ADSL in the Gold Coast?.

We are in the midst of finding a new house to lease on the Gold Coast. The ADSL availability here is nothing like I expected and I would really like to find out which areas currently can and/or cannot access broadband connections as I'm returning to work shortly after maternity leave and I do A LOT of work from home... how can I check if broadband is available at addresses where no phone is connected yet? Some help with this would be extremely appreciated!

    Thanks,

  • Upgrading to Wi-Fi for iPad

Hi. We are currently with Optus (live in Baulkham Hills Sydney), on a bundled phone and internet contract that is on a modem and not wi-fi. Our daughter starts high school next year, and the college ha asked all student s to purchase an IPAD2. Obviously she will have the use of WI-fi at school, but we should upgrade to wi-fi for home. Note: We hardly use our actual home phone. With her going to high school we will need greater speed and download capability but can we include her IPAD in this bundle? As a parent it is starting to get very confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Liz

  • Do I Have to Bundle My Home Phone and Internet?

Do I have to change to TPG for landline rental in order to access a TPG plan? Can I pay by the month? How long does it take to set up a broadband plan? Assume it costs $100.00 to do so. I am currently with Chariot for dial-up and was told by them that I need to speak to you about connecting to broadband. I live on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia.

Thank you so much for your help,

    Marg

  • How Many Gigabytes do I Really Need?

We want ADSL2+ with WiFi. It is so difficult to know how many GB are enough. Question 1... Can we increase GB if we find it is not enough and will there be a fee for changing plans? Questions 2.... How much per month for 5GB. Question 3...how does ADSL2+ work with WiFi?

    Thanks,

    Heather

  • Unstable speeds on DSL for Smart TV

I am currently with Optus on a business DSL plan. I recently purchased a smart tv and found that at different times the download was unstable and was continually buffering which kind of defeats the purpose of why I got the TV. My question is, would it be preferrable to try and get on a cable plan for quicker download speed? Contacting Optus was confusing in that they really couldn't give a definitive answer as to what offer would be best i.e. cable v ADSL2+ and what better speeds if any over my existing plan.

    Thanks,

    Peter

  • Can I use a BigPond modem with TPG?

Interested in TPG 100gb at $19.95 + $30 home phone. My present router is a Bigpond 2 wire 2071a is this o/k. As i am a novice on computers i would need assistance to have your B/band installed, how much would this cost ?? A 12 month contract would suffice. I am out of contract with Telstra.

    Regards, John Carr.

  • Very confused - stick with Optus, or move on?

Hi! I am quite confused as to what would be suitable and the best value for me in relation to phone and internet. I have had for about 12-14 years, Optus cable internet with phone bundled. Since Optus brought in the $79.00 Fusion 7GBplan that is what I have been using. As they are rising their prices, and I don't always use the full amt of data that is available with this plan, I am over 60yrs, and this plan does not take into account of my age for discount. I have been thinking about looking at changing my ISP for some time, or at looking around at what is available in the market place, now seems to be a suitable time. I am not at all happy to go on a contract as my husband & I will be looking at changing our living arrangements within the next 6-12mths. Both of us use post paid mobile and have done for over 12 mths and this suits us perfectly. I might be best to stay where I am, but I'm unsure. Could you help me find a solution? Thanks! Carol
