• I need 250GB to watch TV series online

Hi, I'm hoping to get an internet package for my unit. But i'm not sure where to start. I don't have a home phone, as my mobile is ample. I have been looking at the larger packs 250GB+ as we watch alot of Tv series online. Can you please advise which packs would be suitable?

    Many thanks, Kaley

  • Why do I need a phone line for Naked ADSL?

Hi. I need help comparing naked broadband Internet with adsl. We want a 6 (possibly 12) month contract. I live in Kingsley, WA. I have rung up once before and was told I need to get a phone line put in by Telstra. I don't understand how all this works and is frustrating the hell out of me. Please if someone can help me connect to the internet ASAP I would be forever grateful. This whole process is painful.

    Thanks.

    Catherine

  • Need 50GB of data, with no phone line

I am presently with Optus and due to a price increase am able to get out of my plan. I have home phone and ADSL internet at $85 per month and would like to reduce my costs. I am interested in Broadband and no home phone and will need from 50GBinternet. The house previously had BROADBAND and I still have the cable but do not have the box that is attached to the house as the house has had a renovation due to floods. The interior has all the necessary plugs and all the cables are all ready on the exterior of the home. Would this mean I would be required to pay installation costs? Look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards, Judith

  • Do I Need a Bundle?

I need help with the best value for home internet and mobile. Im currently with Telstra on a home bundle but I no longer need a home phone. I would require about 5GB for my laptop and about $300 for my mobile as I mostly use txt and want to get rid of my home phone if possible. Optus doesnt work in my area so I feel a little stuck with Telstra but would like a better cheaper option.

    Thanks, Lyn

  • No Ports Available

I used your site and thought that iprimus naked DSL would best suit my needs. So I signed up. Now, I have been told by them that "iPrimus: Your ADSL2+ order has been placed on hold due to no available ADSL2+ ports at your exchange. We will endeavour to have your order completed within 1 month and will SMS once the situation is resolved. Please call Primus on 1300 85 85 85 during business hours for updates as to the progress of your application". I believe this is unacceptable- before taking my money they should have informed me that they (iprimus) did not have access to ports there. I could go with a different carrier who does have ports there! I am in Scarborough WA 6019. What can I do?

    Thank you,

    Samantha

  • Why have Optus raised their prices?

I am on a 120GB plan with Optus Cable internet, the prices have gone up (looking for the cheapest & best deal ) & i want to know the difference in speed connection with TPG, ADSL 2+ compared to cable (100Mbps i'm using right now) & your pricing on different plans. Will ADLS2+ be convenient with internet TV, is it stable enough or does it drop out when viewing different channels. Do you do naked ADSL 2+ or need to purchase a bundle pack. I want to know, can use existing router if i switch, need to know or has TPG got their own built in modem router.

    Regards, George

  • Hi,

We are moving to Tasmania from Sydney, and will have good wireless coverage. At present we have a home phone line and connected ADSL for our internet usage. This is largely the odd email and Internet browsing and bookings, plus a twice-weekly Skype conversation each about 30 minutes. I also have an old mobile (not Smart)phone on a $30 plan which I usually exceed for national calls. We would like to transfer to a Smartphone plan, so we can internet and email from the phone, and Skype and Viber with family and friends from Tassie. Can we do without a home phone and ADSL/naked DSL just by having a Smart phone and Wifi modem? Any other options? Cost will be important.

    Thanks,

    Laura

  • I need ADSL, or Mobile Broadband, with Wi-Fi

    Hi,

I require broadband internet access by ADSL2+, naked ADSL or mobile, whichever is the best value (I want to avoid paying phone line rental). My monthly usage is 10-20 GB and I live in Southbank, Melbourne. WiFi access is necessary as I have more than 1 device. I'd prefer shaped to avoid excess data charges. I am considering changing my mobile phone provider so any post paid mobile plan included/bundled would be useful. A low usage mobile phone plan of $20/mth or equivalent talk time is sufficient. I am currently on a Telstra 1GB mobile broadband plan since I moved to Melbourne but even if I upgrade this plan the 1GB is gone within a day. The data consumption seems much faster than my old Telstra ADSL2+ plan, could this be down to being charged for both downloads and uploads on the mobile plan? Not sure if this was the case on my old ADSL2+ Telstra plan.

    Thank you for your help,

    Wayne

  • Need Naked DSL in St Kilda

Hi, I am moving to St Kilda, Victoria for a period of 12-18 months and wish to organise broadband internet. I am currently sharing iiNet Naked DSL with my neighbours which generally works pretty well, although dropouts have been reasonably regular, requiring restarts. That said the customer service from iinet has been consistently excellent. I do like the free national VOIP calls with this arrangement and would like something similar at my new apartment as I use it regularly.

That said, if a bundled arrangement would be more cost effective I would be more than open to it as it would be more reliable. My only concern with a standard telephone line is flagfall and cost per minute, if this is excessive I would probably just use skype especially if the data connection is fast. Data usage would be about 10-20GB per month, but I do watch iView a reasonable amount so this may increase my data usage if this is included in the data count (I know with iinet it wasn't counted). Any info would be much appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Tristan

  • I need internet and line rental with free calls

I'm looking for an internet and landline deal. We use the internet mainly for emails etc but do use skype a bit etc so need around 50GB data per month. The landline will mainly be used for international calls to UK so need cheap rates for that. Also for 1300 numbers. Please advise the best deal.

    Many thanks,

    Vicki

  • I just want broadband

    Hi,

I have researched the ISP's and Broadband plans a little and have become confused. I live 1.5kms away from a main exchange that offers ADSL2 + from various ISPS.

I just need a reliable service as I will be connecting a paid TV service to watch international TV.. something similar to Foxtel that is being delivered via the internet connection.

I have estimated that I don’t really need an unlimited plan.. 300GB will be sufficient. I am considering Eftel / Exetel / TPG / Veetel ?

Can you assist me with making decision in NSW Kogarah exchange? I don’t want a bundle solution and have a Telstra line.

    Thanks,

    Irene

  • Are Optus Fusion Bundles good value?

    Hi,

Wanting to change home phone and internet plan. Questions: what is the difference between broadband and ADSL? Is it possible to package home phone, internet and mobile phone currently on optus fusion package - don't use anywhere near data allocation and think we could do better. What do you think? Thanks, Cathy

  • Getting an Android tablet - what internet to get?

Just got a I would like to purchase an Android Tablet. I only have dial-up internet access with broadband being unavailable. I would like a Wi-Fi pre-paid plan for a light - medium user. Not very experienced with fast moving technology so need something simple to follow & operate & not too expensive. Thank you for any advice you can provide, Sandra

  • I currently have Optus ADSL 2+ service (I think- I'm on an old Fusion $99 plan which needs to be changed) and when I tested it on your site it seemed better than average, (13760 kbps upload, 600 kbps download). However, when I try to do a video call it doesn't work well at all. A number of times I just end up with a static picture and sound. I understand Internode offers fast broadband, but it is still ADSL 2+, so will it be faster than what I have? Also, I understand they were bought not too long ago and now they use (some?) Optus lines... I'm not happy with Optus given the speed issue and the fact they haven't let me know about the better offers they have, but am I better off switching? Dara

  • Streaming online video in Perth

Hi, I have recently moved to Perth and have rented an apartment in West Perth. I am looking for a broadband connection with preferably no contract, no wiring changes to be made in the apartment, monthly usage around 40-50GB and speed adequate enough for online streaming of videos. Landline phone is not required. Also, I have a modem from my previous connection so if I find a BYO modem kind of connection, would be better. Could you suggest me a service that fits into these requirements? Thanks, Garima

  • Getting Internet TV over a Wi-Fi network

I am interested to know if I connect to a Wi-Fi network plan and have a samsung blu ray player that allows Internet TV - does a broadband plan include this as part of it or are there additional data download charges for watching (apart from the individual pay per view, BigPond or Quickflix movies charges etc). Thanks, Kylie

  • At a crossroads - ADSL 1 or 3G?

Hi, I am at a crossroads with what to go with. I am really wanting to get wifi as i have just purchased a iMac though i still have a PC(which is on the outer) I am about to start studying and need reliable net, as the PC seems to stuffing me around on my optus mobile broadband and now i cannot access any internet at all. I am trying to find the cheapest option for us under a huge budget. We live in a rental and not staying at this property. So it makes it hard with contract stuff.. I live in regional hunter valley. we have acces to ASDL1 or 3g mobile. we do not have a line to the house (as this a cost to landlord we think, if i chose to install it) What would you recommend. The best so far i have found is telstra ASDL1 works out to be $52p/m with $299 installation fee. Cheers Polly

  • Hi, Looking for best value fast broadband (only don't need home phone or mobile) as medium to heavy user in Darling Point Sydney for 4 month period. Can you recommend the best option/s? Also if I take a monthly option will I always be charged a set up a fee each month? Thanks Peter

  • Use less than 1/2 a GB a month. Have had Telstra and Virgin plug ins but reception is very slow, drop outs frequent and often will not connect. I want fast reliable connection, any type, cannot get helpful advice from shops, am treated like a geriatric and offered a bundle for $95 a month. My prepaid $50 15 day plug runs out tomorrow and I am no wiser. Have had TadAust at $6pm years ago but need to keep phone line clear. Prefer prepay but open to suggestions. Please help. • Looking for cheap unlimited connections

Im looking for the cheapest unlimited broadband in Melbourne. Im living in South Yarra 3141 which is beside the CBD and I would have thought there would be loads of great offers for being so close to the city. I cant find any? I have moved into a new build apartment. I know there is a fee to get connected which I dont mind paying but no one is doing me a great deal. The best is 24 month contract with dodo at $60 month but even at that that sounds expensive. Whats the best? I would rather not go as long as 24 month contract. But I want it fast and pref unlimited. Any thoughts? Thanks, Christian

    Hi,

  • Dial Up to Broadband - Very confused!

Hi, I feel like the most confused person in Australia! I need to change from dial up to I guess, broadband and also need the home phone. I have looked at TPG which I thought sounded good then I realise I would be paying for stuff I dont need - ie 100 mins overseas, so thats not really good for me. I would be a fairly light user - no gaming, no downloading movies. I do need email of course, I also thought about WIFI as I would eventually like to get a tablet too. I've read lots of reviews about TPG - paying the minute you sign up and not getting the service for up to a couple of weeks... As I rent, I'm not sure how long I'll be staying in the apartment. Optus - why do I need the owners permission to get broadband set up? Contracts - due to my uncertainty of where I'm living, am reluctant to sign a long term when I could move overseas. Any help, would be most appreciated. Thank you.

  • Trying to connect Naked DSL without an existing phone number

I don't have the phone number yet of a new property we are moving into, how can I progress beyond the first sign up step. Thanks, Lu

  • How do l determine what is the best plan & provider to go with? Thanks, Trevor.

  • Looking for a cheap unlimited plan!

To whom this may concern. Hello my name is Mark, I'm emailing you in regards to finding the best and cheapest unlimited plan I can find. My family is all running off a single mobile broadband stick that is both inconvenient and an annoyance for my family but we have only started looking and have almost fallen for some pretty simple pull ins. If it at all helps, my parents use the net a lot for videos, my sister for downloading EVERY song and video that crosses youtube or tv, and myself plus my partner would like to do some hardcore gaming(our current net is too slow). So any help understanding what plans could help would be nice! Cheers, Mark.

  • If I moved house as we rent, would we be charged another setup fee in a new place? Thanks, Lisa.

  • Hi there. I have built and am moving into a new home in Dianella (WA). My current internet service provider has advised that cannot provide me ANY service because of the distance of my house from the exchange (presumably Morley). I sourced a service from TPG who confirmed ADSL 2+ is not available, but that they could pursue getting 'pairing' of the line removed by Telstra which could allow them to offer me an alternative solution. I have a family of four with desktop, 2 wireless laptops and 2 iPads and need at least 50GB if not 100GB and am prepared to sign up for at least 2 years, if not longer providing I get the right service. What are my options? Thanks, Alf

  • Hello, My daughter is studying at Murdoch university in Perth. She has a Telstra mobile connection with her iphone. She has been living in Perth for more than 6 months. We have bought an apartment in Cockburn Central for her to live in. What options are there for high speed internet connection in her apartment and then she would bundle a mobile connection for her iphone to receive internet and texts etc. Does she have to use cable modem? Would a new apartment be all set up for this connection? How much and how long are the contracts. Thanks,Beth

  • I need fast internet with a fairly high data limit, to stream films

Im moving into a new unit just two people using the internet. No TV so will be streaming films and tv, but mainly music so would want fast internet and fairly high data limit. Looking for a contract atleast 12 months. Will I always have to pay line rental on the phone or is that only with certain broadband types? Any help and info would be great. Thanks, Lindsay

  • Hi, I'm an international student, I'm renting a place to live, so I don't want a bundle with a phone and I prefer wireless. And I usually do quite much download online, so I hope the speed can be quick, and 100GB/month maybe enough for me. I hope the set-up is free and total fee can be controlled in $50 per month. I know it's quite hard to find a so perfect package, so can you help me? Thanks, Yan.

  • I want to get started with Unlimited ADSL at a good price without any hidden fees. I just got a laptop but I don't have a landline setup, or a modem. Can you point me into the right direction? Thanks, Joseph

  • I'm looking for internet. I'm a heavy user but don't want line rental or home phone as I only use mobile. I currently have dongle but it keeps dropping out and I'm on limited funds so must be reasonable price. Thanks, Wendy.

  • Hi, I'm looking to set up broadband internet at home. I've got a phone line, but no modem or router. What is the difference between the ADSLs (i.e. ADSL2+, ADSL, Naked ADSL2+), and what is the difference betweent the modems that are on the market? Does a cheaper modem mean any difference to the internet connectivity, speed and stability (i.e. drop out from the internet)? What are the major differences between providers, and if I have currently set up my phone line through one telco, will they give me a discount on broadband if I go with them? Thanks! Ed

  • We currently have a desk top computer and a lap top. We are on the mobile super fast liberty 1GB plan 39.95 per month. We have just bought a ipad with WiFi and 3G as we travel a little we would like a plain that we can use at home and while away incorporating the three. I guess we need WiFi for home. • I'm looking into organising an internet service for my daughters who live in Brisbane. There are 3 girls sharing the house and they would all need to be able to access the internet. They are uni students so would need a medium to heavy internet usage. As it is a rental house, they do not have a landline, they all have mobile phones but with different companies. What is the best type of internet service for them to use? Thanks, Karen.

  • Hello. I've been trying to get ADSL2 for a while but Telstra say we are too far from the exchange (but everyone in my street has adsl or cable) and also that we cant get 'Cable' because our driveway is too long and that the connection will get lost over the long distance. I live in Eltham its a suburban area. I have 2 questions, firstly, can I get Adsl2 offnet? And second why can't I get cable and just pay extra for a more heavy-duty cable which won't drop out over long distances? Im sure there is a solution - I don't wish to keep paying a ridiculous $99 per month for 12gig of wireless! Thanks, Lewis

  • Hi, we are currently with 2 service providers one for the Internet and one for the home line rental. We don't use the home phone and want to get rid of the home line rental so are looking for a Internet provider that has a wireless broad band so we don't have any cable connecting to the laptop to access the Internet. We have a 50GB down load and upload limit currently that we don't use much of. The Internet is mainly used for surfing the net, paying the bills and putting music in iTunes. I would like to know what type of plan would be recommend as we are paying $85 which is too much. Cheers, Cara

  • Hello my name is Maryanne. I would just like to know what the best plan for me would be. I'm currently paying $80 per month with Bigpond but after 2 weeks there always seems to be no data left. Paying that sort of money seems to be to much to run out every month. Please if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them. Regards, Maryanne

  • I live in South Brisbane and Telstra has recently installed fibre optic. I currently do not have a land line, and I am using Mobile Broadband with Optus. I would like to find a good deal for a home phone / internet bundle, however I called TPG (my mobile provider) and they told me they still cannot provide me one for now - they will in the future but are not sure when. I do not want to switch to Telstra as I find them very expensive. I would appreciate your help as it is all very confusing to me. Thanks, Alessia
