BigPond is expanding its 100Mbps cable broadband service beyond Melbourne to Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth.
Perth customers can expect the upgrade from 30 November, while Adelaide, Brisbane and Gold Coast customers will have to wait until 12 December.
The 100Mbps service is delivered through a cable connection and is ideal for households where several people want to enjoy a high-speed connection at the same time, for example, streaming a movie and making a video call over Skype.
New eligible customers can access BigPond Ultimate Cable from $88 a month for 24 months on a Bundle that includes a 200GB monthly data allowance and a home phone. The offer includes a Wi-Fi modem and free professional installation of the service.
Existing eligible BigPond Turbo and BigPond Elite cable customers will be able to upgrade to a BigPond Ultimate Cable plan without the need to sign up to a new contract when they purchase a BigPond Ultimate Cable self install Wi-Fi modem kit (RRP $149).
Customers outside of BigPond's cable areas can contact Optus on 1300 137 897 to find out if Optus cable broadband can be accessed, or will have to wait until the National Broadband Network (NBN) is available in their area.
