Engin’s new unlimited VoIP phone plan lets you make phone calls over your ADSL broadband internet connection. If you have Naked DSL all the better, as you won’t have to pay for a monthly landline rental, which in itself usually costs Australians around $30 a month.
Call features often charged for elsewhere like Caller ID, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Voicemail and Voicemail to Email are all included in your plan for free, as well as all calls from Engin to Engin numbers.
Calls to Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, UK, USA, China, India, NZ, Italy, Vietnam, Philippines and South Africa are all included in this plan, as long as they are standard international landline numbers.
You can talk to people all across Australia on landlines, or on their mobile phones for as long as you like, and as often as you want to.
Plans are on 12-month contracts, and the only other cost involved is $19 for the Engin Voicebox, plus a $14.95 delivery fee. The Engin Voicebox is a special VoIP device that plugs straight into your ADSL or ADSL2+ modem.
Note: Engin says customers should have at least an ADSL 512kbps speed, but we at Compare Broadband believe anything slower than an ADSL 1500kbps speed could affect the quality of VoIP calls. ADSL8000 or ADSL2+ connections ensure dropouts or fuzzy lines occur as rarely as possible.
