TPG is a Sydney-based IT and broadband supplier that has been in operation since 1989. TPG markets itself as one of Australia's largest Internet Service Provider's, but excludes Tasmania from its broadband provision. TPG offers ADSL1, ADSL2+, Naked DSL cheap bundle deals and mobile plans.

ADSL1 connections reach speeds from 512Kbps to 20,000Kbps. Where available, ADSL2+ and Naked DSL plans reach speeds up to 24,000Kbps. Download speeds are slowed when the monthly limit is reached, so there are no extra charges for exceeding a data limit. Both uploads and downloads count toward your monthly data quota.

TPG offers a free spam filter, static IP address, virus protection and up to 20 email accounts with every broadband plan. Web-space is included as an extra.

Connection with TPG generally takes 3-5 working days from application on an active Telstra phone line. Naked DSL or home phone and broadband bundles can take 10-20 working days.

TPG also offers VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) plans and provide some of the lowest call rates available in Australia.

How many email addresses can I have with TPG?

Yes. TPG offers free 30MB web space for broadband customers.

How much will it cost to set up a TPG ADSL1 or ADSL2+ broadband service?
All TPG ADSL1 broadband services have a $59.95 set-up fee. This fee is waived if you are connected to a broadband provider that participates in the fast transfer service.

All TPG ADSL2+ broadband plans have a $59.95 set-up cost on a 12-month contract. On an 18-month contract there is no set-up cost. Naked and bundle plans have a $129.95 set-up cost on a six-month contract, or $79.95 set-up cost on an 18-month contract.

What will it cost if I cancel my TPG broadband while still in contract?
If you decide to cancel a TPG broadband plan while still in contract you are required to payout the remaining monthly cost of the service to a maximum of $350.00.

Will I have to pay a relocation fee if I move house during my contract period?
Relocation of an ADSL or ADSL2+ service requires the disconnection of the current service and reconnection at the new address. This incurs a fee between $79 - $139.95 depending on the type of ADSL service and availability at the new address.

What is the TPG VoIP plan?
Voice over Internet Protocol (or VoIP) is available through TPG to save money on local, national and international calls. TPG claims the lowest call rates in Australia and offers 500 free minutes between capital cities each month on all VoIP plans. You will need a VoIP-enabled modem and it is recommended to have a 1500 kbps connection or faster.
The calling rates for local and national calls are 10 cents per untimed call, and 28 cents per minute to mobiles.

What Modem will I need on a TPG broadband connection?
The type of Modem you will need depends on the service you are subscribing to. For an ADSL2+ connection you will need an ADSL2+ compatible modem. For a VoIP service you will need a VoIP-enabled modem.

You can bring your own modem to TPG or purchase a TPG supported modem during sign up. TPG provide the following ADSL1 & 2 modems at an additional cost (+ $10 delivery):
