Unlimited broadband Plans

Unlimited broadband plans are ideal for heavy downloaders, or for people living in a shared house. The internet is never shaped (deliberately slowed by the Internet Service Provider), there are no on and off peak times and no excess charges. Unlimited broadband only refers to the internet; customers looking for unlimited phone calls should take a look at Optus Fusion plans instead.

TPG: home phone and unlimited broadband

TPG’s home phone and unlimited broadband plan is only available in limited locations (mainly metro areas), however if it’s available you’ll be amazed at how cheap it is. For $59.99 per month, TPG will give you unlimited broadband and a home phone line.

Local calls are 25c each, national calls are capped at $2 for the first 20 minutes, and mobile calls are capped at $2.48 for the first 20 minutes. If you only use the broadband and never actually use the home phone, you’ll still be saving money as there is no minimum monthly calls spend on the home phone line.

The TPG bundle plans are available either on a six-month ($129.95 setup) or 18-month ($79.95 setup) contract.

TPG: ADSL1 or ADSL2+ unlimited plans

Even if you don’t bundle your home phone and broadband together, TPG can still offer you an unlimited broadband plan – whether it’s ADSL1 or ADSL2+. An unlimited plan on ADSL2+ will cost $59.99 per month, and you can either sign up for a 12-month contract ($59.95 setup fee), or an 18-month contract (no setup fee).

On ADSL1, an unlimited broadband plan will cost $69.99 per month. The plan is available on a six-month contract with a $59.95 setup fee.

ClubTelco ADSL1 or ADSL2+ unlimited plans

With ClubTelco, you can get access to unlimited broadband, whether you’re on ADSL1 or ADSL2+. The month-to-month unlimited plan will cost you $70 per month on either connection, along with a $50 annual membership fee into the Club.

With these plans, you will need to have an active home phone line. ClubTelco has their own home phone plan for $30 per month, with 20c local and national calls. Otherwise if there’s another home phone plan you’re interested in which uses Telstra infrastructure to provide the service, you can sign up for that instead and still access ClubTelco’s unlimited broadband plans.

Dodo ADSL1 or ADSL2+ unlimited plans

Whether you have an active home phone line with Dodo or with another company, you should be able to access Dodo’s ADSL1 (regional) or ADSL2+ (metropolitan) unlimited broadband plans.

Dodo customers in metro areas may be able to sign up to their dirt cheap $39.90 unlimited broadband plan, or if you’re in a regional area, it will cost $59.90 for speeds up to 1500kbps, or $79.90 for speeds which may equal that on ADSL2+. The plans are available either on a one-month, 12-month or 24-month contract.

Call Dodo on 1300 136 793 to find out what plans they offer in your area.

Optus ‘yes’ Fusion 1000GB (1 terabyte)

OK, so it’s not technically unlimited, but it’s still pretty big! There are no peak or off peak time restrictions. If you manage to eat your way through the 1000GB, your speed will be restricted to 256kbps – there are no excess data fees. The plan is $149 per month, however this also includes an Optus home phone line, unlimited local and national calls, as well as calls to any GSM mobile within Australia.

The plan is available on a 24-month contract. However, Optus will also kick in a free wireless modem, as well as a $0 setup.

Call Optus on 1300 137 897 to find out if the plan is available in your area.
