Who are the VoIP providers in Australia?

  • Find VoIP services to suit your needs
  • Consider which plans are bundled with VoIP to save money
  • Bundle with Naked Broadband to avoid landlines

Australians are spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing a VoIP provider. Customers can choose to bundle their VoIP and broadband services together, or you can have your VoIP plan separate from your broadband plan.

Many VoIP customers choose to bundle their service with a Naked DSL broadband plan. Naked DSL is an ADSL2+ connection, however your traditional home phone line will be inactive so you don’t have to pay phone line rental (which is usually about $30 per month).

Why choose a VoIP service?

The biggest advantage of a VoIP phone over a traditional home phone line comes down to cost. That is, the cost of the line rental plus the cost of phone calls. Some VoIP plans come with a monthly cost, while other plans are bundled into a broadband plan and you just pay for the calls you make.

If you make a lot of international calls, VoIP plans generally offer international call rates which are much cheaper than a traditional home phone line. There is also usually no connection fee (flag fall).

While a VoIP phone uses your internet data to make calls, you don’t need to have the computer on, and you can use a regular handset with a VoIP-enabled modem. Some ISP’s even allow you to port your existing phone number over to a VoIP phone.
