MynetFone has been in the telecommunications industry since 2004, but started ISP activities in 2007. MyNetFone now has nearly 100,000 customers, making the Internet Service Provider (ISP) a second tier provider – but an interesting one. MyNetFone’s primary business is in Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), for which it provides business grade solutions via a subsidiary, Symbio Networks. This international point-of-presence network gives MyNetFone Australia’s fifth largest network for internet based telephony.
For broadband services, MyNetFone keep it surprisingly simple – it does not provide bundles, it provides ADSL2+ broadband only. In the 350 exchanges hosting an Optus DSLAM, MyNetFone exclusively offers Naked DSL at very competitive prices, usually with a revolving series of specials – 1st month free, free connections, free modems, etc.
Outside of the Optus Wholesale network, MyNetFone offers Standalone ADSL2+, meaning you must already have an active phone line with Telstra or with another Telstra reseller.
For all of these arrangements, MyNetFone offers a very attractive VOIP package, ranging from $9.95-$39.95 a month, which includes national and international calls. As a carrier grade VOIP provider, you can expect much higher fidelity calls than you would through free services like Skype. MyNetFone also carries a wide range of ADSL and VOIP hardware.
CEO Rene Sugo remains outspoken in the industry as an advocate for improving customer service, and hosts his entire customer support team in Sydney. The company has also been a vocal and enthusiastic supporter of the NBN, with an eye to boosting its profile when the network comes in.

Availability
MyNetFone’s highly competitive Naked DSL offerings are available at 350 exchanges hosting Optus Wholesale equipment. This covers most large metropolitan exchanges, and a handful of large regional exchanges in ‘2nd cities’ like Geelong and Newcastle.
MyNetFone offers standalone ADSL2+ at all Telstra exchanges, at the same price as its Naked DSL offerings. Even with the combined Telstra line rental, their plans are competitive – but as the ISP doesn't offer bundles, this requires the customer to separate their phone and internet providers. Even so, MyNetFone’s plans in these areas offer better value over equivalent plans from TPG, Internode and iPrimus.
