I am currently a customer with Testra T-Box and I am about to cancel my connection with them. I don't want a phone line, only broadband - can you provide this without me being connected to a phone service?

Hi Yvonne,
What you're asking for is called Naked Broadband or Naked DSL. Naked Broadband is an ADSL2+ connection that comes through your phone line in just the same way as your standard ADSL connection. It seems an alluring prospect for customers like you who don't want a phone line, but there are some important things to consider before you're certain that a Naked Broadband connection is for you.
Honestly, the most important factor is going to be price. This is generally the reason that people who don't use a home phone don't want a phone line at all – they figure it's a waste of money. This would only be true if your ADSL connection didn't come through on exactly the same line. As it is, you will be paying line rental no matter what, and Naked Broadband is often more expensive than just getting a home phone and internet bundle and not plugging your phone in. Unless you have another concrete reason for wanting Naked Broadband, I would advise you to simply get yourself a bundle deal, and don't plug your phone in. An Internet Service Provider (ISP) cannot force you to make calls, and there are some great value bundle plans out there.
If you're set on getting Naked ADSL, though, I would recommend MyNetFone. MyNetFone offers some great Naked deals – for example a 500GB plan for $59.95/month, that comes with free connection and a free modem when you sign up for a 12 month contract. Call MyNetFone for more information or to sign up now on 1300 210 756.
If you'd like to look into the possibilities of a bundle deal, I'd recommend TPG. TPG offers a great Unlimited Home Phone and Internet Bundle for $59.99/month. They don't offer any free calls, which makes it the perfect plan for heavy users who don't care about a home phone. Call us for more information or to sign up with TPG on 1300 106 571.
If you're a lighter user, give Exetel a try. Exetel offers good value for the light user: you could try the OT-10 Home Phone and Internet Bundle plan, which offers 20GB – 10GB peak and 10GB off-peak – for a mere $29.50/month. Call us for more information or to sign up with Exetel on 1300 106 571.
I hope this has helped!
Mikaella.
