Looking for short term broadband only, 3-4 months.
We have bigpond mobile broadband 4GB per month, which is plenty normally. Have family member with us from overseas and have increased to 8GB which is almost gone and we are 50% into months allocation. Thought a separate no fixed contract or short term contract might be worth considering. We do have modems which were used in the past but not sure if these can be reused. Any advice will be appreciated. With thanks, Margaret.

Hi Margaret,
Mobile Broadband is not as stable or as fast as an ADSL or cable fixed-line connection, but it is completely portable and you can go on a pre-paid or post-paid contract. As such, there are a few mobile contracts available for you with the data that you're looking for.
Optus offer mobile broadband plans, such as 16 GB for $59.95 per month without a contract. Club Telco also offers mobile broadband without contracts, such as 15GB for $55.00 per month without a contract.
If you were looking outside the mobile broadband spectrum, ADSL2+ is your best bet. If you already have a home phone activated, it means that a wide range of minimum contracts are available to you. One of the best right now is Club Telco's Unlimited local broadband plan for $25.00 a month. If you did not have a home phone line connected, bundling line rental and the internet is your best bet- Dodo offer a 10GB plan plus $32.90 home phone line rental for $39.80 per month.
Optus can be contacted on 1300 137 897, Club Telco can be contacted on 1300 138 155 and Dodo can be contacted on 1300 136 793.
You can also call Compare Broadband for any other enquiries or regarding bundle information that you seek on 1300 106 571.
Thanks,
Jessica
