I have checked the home phone number you have provided, and it looks like you have ADSL1 available through the Casuarina exchange. ADSL1 broadband allows speeds of up to 8mbps, and you will need to have an active home phone line. Most internet providers will allow you to bundle your ADSL1 broadband with a home phone, and will reward you with either bonus data or a discount on your monthly broadband cost. If you are using services such as Skype, I would recommend a download speed of at least 1500kbps. This will also be fast enough to stream video or download web pages with a heavy amount of graphics. iiNet has some ADSL1 plans that provide great value when you bundle them with a home phone. For an extra $9.95 per month, you could also bundle the internet and home phone together with a Netphone2 service, so you can take advantage of iiNet’s cheap VoIP international call rates. A VoIP service – like Skype - uses your internet data to make phone calls. While you could continue to receive calls on your regular home phone line (you can port your existing phone number over to iiNet), you could use a VoIP service to make super cheap outgoing calls. All you will need is a VoIP-enabled modem, as well as a home phone to plug into the modem. I would recommend iiNet’s ADSL1 Home-2 plan, which is 50GB during peak hours (8am-2am) and 50GB during off peak hours (2am-8am). The cost of the plan will be $49.95 per month for the broadband, plus $29.95 per month for the home phone. As I mentioned before, for an extra $9.95 per month, you could bundle these services with Netphone2, which would give you access to unlimited locals and national calls. Calls to landlines in Greece are $0.07/min. There is no extra charge if you go over your download limit – if you go over, your download speed will be slowed to 256kbps.
