I am looking for a fast broadband plan which should have a 200 GB and above monthly limit.

Mainly, I will be using that to watch international tv channels, so I need good speed so that it can buffer quickly. I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

If you are after a good broadband speed, you will need either an ADSL1, ADSL2+ or cable broadband connection. Cable speeds can be 30Mbps or even faster but plans are only available in certain areas and are generally more expensive than ADSL. Call Optus on 1300 137 897 to find out if cable is available in your area. ADSL2+ is probably your best option in terms of value-for-money. Speeds range up to 24Mbps, although the actual speed you will receive will be slower depending on how far you are from the exchange. ADSL2+ is available in many areas throughout Australia but if you can't get ADSL2+, your next option would be a fast ADSL1 plan. At Compare Broadband, we recommend at least a speed of 1.5Mbps for streaming video but if you prefer a faster speed you should look at 8Mbps plans, the fastest speed for ADSL1. The best way to find out what is available in your area is to call a few providers and give them your phone number or address. An Internet Service Provider (ISP) has to enable an exchange by installing hardware before it can offer an ADSL2+ service to the local area. As ISPs enable exchanges in different areas, you may find one provider can offer you ADSL2+ while another cannot. This is why it is important to speak to more than one ISP before buying a broadband plan. iPrimus has some good plans for heavy broadband users and is a good place to start. iPrimus has an ADSL2+ 300GB Big Kahuna broadband plan for $89.95, or a massive 1111GB for $99.95. iPrimus also offers big plans on ADSL1, with up to 300GB available. Call iPrimus on 1300 137 794 for more details and to find out what it can offer to you. If you are interested in IPTV (TV over the internet) TPG and iiNet are also good ISPs to call. iiNet offers fetchtv 2, which you can add to your iiNet plan for $19.95 a month when you buy a set-top box for $399. This service allows you to order movies and access a wide range of TV channels, including FoxSportsNews, Al Jazeera, MTV and BBC World News. You can record, pause and rewind live TV using the set-top box. Watching these channels will not use up your data allowance. iiNet has plans with up to 1000GB, if you bundle with a home phone on both ADSL2+ and ADSL1. Call iiNet on 1300 106 571 for more details. TPG is offering a free trial of its IPTV service, with channels from India, Greece, France and China available. TPG offers an unlimited plan on ADSL2+ for $59.99, which includes a phone service, or for $69.99 on ADSL1, without a phone service. Call us on 1300 106 571 to find out if you are eligible for any of these plans.
