Currently on an Exetel T7U monthly plan costing $63.

00 per month. Experiencing time lags loading Youtube and when a additional laptop is using the service. Will upgrading my plan slove my problems or perhaps a stronger wireless router?

It looks like you are on quite an old Exetel ADSL1500 speed plan. If there is a long period of lag time, acquiring a stronger Wi-Fi router probably won’t make a difference. There are many infrastructure-type reasons your speed could be slow, ranging from being too far from your local telephone exchange, to having degraded copper phone wiring. I think it would be in your best interest to try and get a faster broadband connection, either on an ADSL8000 speed, or on ADSL2+ if it is available in your location. I checked the phone number you provided and it looks like some providers may be able to give you ADSL2+ at the Springwood exchange. For example, TPG has its new ‘Off-Net’ plans at Springwood where they use Telstra’s equipment to provide a service (as opposed to using TPG-owned hardware at the exchange). You could get the ADSL2+ Off-Net 200GB plan (split 100GB in peak and 100GB in off-peak) for $59.99 a month, or if that is not available, the ADSL Off-Net 8Mb Unlimited plan for $69.99 (8Mbps equals 8,000kbps). However, if you do want to stay with Exetel as a devoted customer, Exetel has three new ADSL8192 plans right up your alley. You can pay $48 a month and get 60GB (split 30GB/30GB) on the Exetel T8192-A plan, pay $58 a month and get 100GB (split 50GB/50GB) on the Exetel T8192-B plan, or pay $68 a month and get Unlimited data on the Exetel T8192-C plan. Getting an ADSL8000 or ADSL2+ speed plan should fix your problem and allow instantaneous playback of YouTube videos and/or simultaneous usage by two separate computers connected to the single connection. For TPG or Exetel plans call Compare Broadband on 1300 106 571. You could also try and call a few other broadband providers to see if they have ADSL2+ at the Springwood exchange. Try calling iPrimus (1300 137 794), Westnet (1300 768 134), or iiNet (1300 106 571) to check for ADSL2+ availability. ADSL2+ is generally faster and cheaper than ADSL1 if it’s available. Also, be aware with the impending rollout of the NBN’s fibre optic network, you may have access to super-quick fibre broadband in the not-too-distant future.
