I live at the postcode 2261 at the entrance NSW and I'm looking to get a high speed broadband.
I download a lot of music and movies and I'm constantly on Facebook and browsing the net. I also don't have a home phone but I would like to be able to make local calls free. I don't want to end up using all my data within a month. Can you please recommend me a plan that's not too expensive?

If you are after high-speed broadband, your best options are ADSL2+, cable or fibre optic. Fibre optic connections are still quite rare and cable is more expensive, so you should focus your search on ADSL2+ plans.
For free local calls, you will need a bundle deal. Optus, Engin, Spin and TPG all offer plans with included calls on a landline. On the other hand, Engin, iiNet and Westnet also offer Naked DSL plans with free local calls over VoIP, and this is another possibility for you.
Provided you get a plan with plenty of data, you won't need to worry about running out by the end of the month. You can use our calculator to work out what you need.
Alternatively, you could just go for an unlimited plan from TPG or Dodo. An unlimited plan means you can download as many movies as you like, your connection will never be shaped.
TPG's ADSL2+ unlimited plan costs $29.99 a month plus a $30 home phone line. Add on an extra $5 a month for unlimited free local phone calls. In total this comes to $64.99 a month. You can call us on 1300 106 571 for this deal.
Optus has some good deals available on its Fusion plans at the moment, including a free modem, and for a limited time, free connection, if you buy the plan online. Both local and national calls are included. Give Optus a call on 1300 137 897 for more information.
If you are happy to ditch the landline for a Naked DSL plan, iiNet offers 100GB for $59.95 (50GB on peak, 50GB off peak) with free local and national calls on VoIP included. Call iiNet on 1300 106 571.
