I'm not sure if your speed is 1.4Mbps, but this would be considered fairly decent on a mobile wireless connection. However, the speed on mobile wireless is very inconsistent and you may find that at some times of the day your internet connection works well, and at other times it is hopeless.
You could certainly try another mobile wireless provider to see if this makes a difference. Give Optus a call on 1300 137 897 and ask what the coverage would be like at your address.
However, if speed and reliability are important to you, consider subscribing to an ADSL or ADSL2+ service instead. Many people are put off ADSL as a phone line is required and this seems like a waste of money for those who do not use their landline to make calls.
But there are some relatively cheap ADSL2+ services available, which are not much more expensive than mobile wireless, especially for plans with 10GB of data or more.

If you are switching to an ADSL2+ service, you will also need a modem. Although TPG does not include a free modem in its plans, other Internet Service Providers (ISPs) do.
