I need the Internet.

I am interested in your plan - 500 GB for AUD $29.99. Please clarify how you arrange connection – via cable or without? I am from Bentleigh East 3165 Vic.

This TPG offer is one of the most competitively priced plans on the Australian broadband market. While the package includes a home phone line, even those who are after Naked DSL (broadband with no home phone) may find the plan is still cheaper than ditching the landline altogether. TPG can organise to connect your property with the plan even if you don’t already have the home phone activated (as long as the necessary infrastructure is there and in satisfactory condition).

The plan is $29.99 for a massive 500GB of broadband (or unlimited broadband for those at an eligible address). The 500GB is split between 150GB peak (9am-1am) and 350GB off peak (9am-1am). The broadband offer has to be bundled with a TPG home phone, which brings the minimum monthly price to $59.99. Additional costs include phone calls, a once-off set-up fee and the price of a modem if you don’t already own one.

TPG ADSL2+ $59.99 150GB (peak) + 350GB (off peak)

If you exceed your monthly cap, your speed will be slowed to 4Mbps (there are no excess usage charges). There are no shaping speeds on the unlimited broadband package. The plans are available either on a six-month ($129.95 set-up) or 18-month ($79.95 set-up) contract. The price above includes the $30 phone line rental.

Being ADSL2+, you should experience fast download and upload speeds. ADSL2+ is usually available in East Bentleigh, and you should be eligible for unlimited broadband which is the same price as 500GB of data usage (and the same speed). ADSL2+ reaches speeds of up to 24Mbps, however it is unlikely you will reach this maximum. ADSL2+ is still considered superfast broadband, and only slightly slower than cable broadband but usually at a much cheaper cost. If you have had cable broadband in the past, you will need to ensure you have an ADSL-compatible modem to use with this package.

If you decide to use the home phone line, local calls are 25c each. National calls are $2 for up to 20 minutes, and mobile calls are $2.48 for up to 20 minutes. Some of the international call rates are also exceptionally cheap (less than 2 cents per minute to the US, UK and India!)

Call us on 1300 106 571 to find out if TPG can offer a home phone and broadband plan at your address.

If you’d like to stick with cable broadband, Optus offers plans with and without the home phone. Call Optus on 1300 137 897 to find out if they can offer cable broadband in your area.
