Hi Alicia,
Mobile broadband is ideal for accessing the internet on the go and is perfect for bundling with a tablet.
There is also no need to pay for home phone line rental, which often makes mobile broadband a cheaper option. On the downside, it's not usually as reliable or as fast as fixed-line services like ADSL and ADSL2+.
Vodafone is offering 14GB plus an iPad 2 for $79 a month, on a 24-month contract. The iPad 2 is Apple's latest iPad and features a powerful dual-core processor, touchscreen and front and back cameras for video calling. Give us a call on 1300 650 410 and we can sign you up to a special deal of $0 upfront on the iPad 2.
If you would prefer an Android-powered tablet, Dodo offers a free Pendo Pad with 10GB of data for $39.90 on a 24-month contract. Dodo also throws in a Wi-Fi USB modem to use with the tablet.
It's a bit more basic than the iPad but ideal for surfing the net, watching movies or viewing YouTube clips on the go, and you would have access to the fast-growing Android app store. Call Dodo on 1300 136 793 for more details on the Pendo Pad.
Alternatively, you could buy your own tablet and add a cheap mobile broadband plan from Virgin Mobile, such as this 8GB plan for $39 a month with a free Wi-Fi modem on a 24-month plan. Call Virgin on 1300 106 571.
You may also like to consider a cheap ADSL2+ and home phone bundle, which would give you more data for a similar price.
Spintel, for example, offers 20GB a month available anytime, for just $39.95, including line rental. On the 24-month contract, Spintel also offers a free Wi-Fi modem. Call Spintel on 1300 106 571 to find out if this offer is still available.
Hope this has given you a few options to consider,
Sarah
