My sister in law who is disabled has just bought a notebook computer with a dongle and is paying a lot of money for her internet. If we get broad band through the phone line is this a more economical way for her to get internet access? She loves to use Youtube and downloads music but as she is disabled it all takes a lot of time as her manual skills are very poor - is this the reason she is using so much Internet? Help

Hi Hilary,
In most instances, a fixed-line connection (like ADSL) is indeed more economical and more stable than a mobile broadband connection. a TPG bundle, for instance, costs $60/month and offers unlimited downloads, on a fast, stable ADSL2+ connection. Most mobile broadband plans offer a maximum of 15GB for a similar price, which could be quickly exhausted if your sister-in-law likes to stream video and download music.
Your sister-in-law's usage is unlikely to be affected by manual dexterity or lack thereof. Video and music counts for most broadband traffic these days, and many websites are built in such a way that they chew a lot of data. The people making the website are expecting the users to have fast, stable, unlimited connections, so they build in animations, video and other complex elements to make even simple news sites more exciting.
If you would like to check to see if TPG or similar providers are available in your area, please call us on 1300 106 571.
Thanks,
Adam
