Hi my name is Aashima. I need an internet connection with wifi and landline. I'm looking for something with no extra charge when the given data has been used up and with a good speed. I have read about unlimited but I'm not sure what the speed is and if it's a wifi? And I don't want more than a month contract.

Hi Aashima,
The extra charges once you go over your data usage for the month can range from annoying to crippling. The good news is most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) – after a lot of general outrage – have given up on this fee. Instead, once you overreach your data quota for the month, your internet will be slowed down – usually to around 256k, the same speed as dial-up. The only ISP who still charges when you overuse your data is Dodo.
When it comes to speed and Wi-Fi, these are two parts of your internet connection that your ISP has no control over. Your internet speed is based on how close you are to the telephone exchange; the closer you are, the faster your internet. Most ISPs will be unable to offer you internet if you are more than 5km away from a telephone exchange.
Wi-Fi is actually about the hardware you own. You'll need a Wi-Fi Modem Router and computers, phones, or tablets that are Wi-Fi enabled, and then you're good to go. Setting up a Wi-Fi connection is quick and easy work, but make sure that you set up a password so that nobody else around you can hack in and use your broadband!
Finding a 0-month contract in addition to good data usage and a reasonable price can be difficult. It's like the old algorithm of craftsmanship: "cheap, fast, well-made" – you can only pick two. All the same, there are some ISPs who will give you broadband outside of a contract; ask the ISPs I've listed below whether or not they'll offer it, and keep in mind that set-up fees are often much higher than if you were taking a standard 6, 12, or 18 month contract.
You didn't give me a quote on how much data you'll use per month, so it's difficult for me to recommend specific plans. However, here's a list of providers who provide reliable, inexpensive internet; their plans are all worth checking out, and you can call us on 1300 106 571 if you require further assistance.
