  • 5G Internet Everyday, $79 per month

The minimum total cost for the 5G Internet Everyday of Optus is $79 for the first month. The minimum cost of $655 includes a $576 modem cost if you cancel within your first month. Nevertheless, if you stay connected for 36 months, you will not pay for the modem. Additionally, the minimum total cost will be reduced by $79 with a ‘one-month free’ offer of the telco. This means that customers who sign up for this plan will receive a credit equivalent to one month of the access fee applied against the minimum total cost. Note that this is not available with any other offer by the telco unless specified on their ads.

When it comes to speed, you can expect a 100Mbps maximum download speed or 83Mbps typical busy period download speed between 7 pm – 11 pm. Just keep in mind that your actual 5G speeds may vary depending on several factors. However, rest assured that these speeds are already suitable for HD video streaming, general internet use, cloud storage, and online collaboration on multiple devices.

  • 5G Internet Entertainer, $89 per month

This means your minimum total cost will be $89 for the first month or $675 if it includes the $576 modem cost. Likewise, stay connected for 36 months. You will not have to pay for the modem. You only have to pay for this upfront modem cost if you cancel within your first month. Otherwise, the total cost will be reduced by $99 with a ‘one-month free’ offer much like the other plan highlighted above.

This plan includes Fetch Mighty with one Premium Channel Pack plus Optus Sport with OS Fitness. Uncapped download speeds are available on this plan, but you may be limited to 210Mbps typical busy period download speed between 7 pm – 11 pm. This is already Suitable for 4K and HD video streaming.

Telstra

While Telstra has offered 5G mobile broadband since mid-2019, this is the first time the telco has made 5G home internet publicly available. Telstra's '5G Home Internet' uses a fixed wireless connection to deliver speeds of up to 1GBps - beginning with some 500,000 homes in Sydney's northwest.

5G Home Internet plans are available to new Telstra customers or existing customers adding 5G Home Internet to their mobile account for an additional $10 per month. The $10 "add on" fee is only applied once per customer account, so if you're adding it onto a plan that already has data included, then the fee will not apply.

  • 5G Home Internet – 1TB, $85/month

Out of the 23 plans offered by Telstra, they only have one home wireless internet plan: the 5G Home Internet – 1TB. As the plan name, it comes with 1000GB of data and 378Mbps average 5G download speed with a typical speed of 50Mbps – 600Mbps.
