Internode adds IPTV-ready Billion modems to range
Australian Internet Service Provider (ISP) Internode has added two IPTV-ready Billion modems to its range.
The Billion BiPAC 7800N and 7800NL ADSL2+ routers deliver high-speed 802.11n Wireless networks protected by WPA2 security, support both IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) as well as IPv4 and come backed by a two-year warranty, Internode said.
The modems also support IPTV (TV over an internet connection) and can be used with Internode's Fetchtv service.
Internode is selling the Billion BiPAC 7800NL, which includes a four-port 10/100 megabit per second (Mbps) switch for $159. The BiPAC 7800N, which incorporates a four-port gigabit switch and is NBN ready, is sold for $199.
Internode product manager, Jim Kellett, said: “With today’s BiPAC 7800 series launch, Internode can now offer its customer IPv6-capable, IPTV-ready routers that meet every requirement at every price point.”
Billion products are distributed nationally by specialist broadband device distributor PCRange. Internode also sells FRITZ!Box modems, which are IPv6, NBN and IPTV ready but are more expensive.
Internode offers two Fetchtv plans to its customers: Fetchtv Full, which costs $29.95 a month on a 24-month contract including set-top box hire, and Fetchtv Lite, $14.95 a month including set-top box hire on a 24-month contract.
Alternatively, customers can buy the box outright for $399 and get the Full service on a month-to-month contract for $19.95 or the Lite service for $5.95 a month.
Both plans include all the free-to-air channels, which customers can pause, record and rewind on their set-top box, as well as a pay-per-view movie service. The Full plan also includes access to extra channels and on-demand movies.
