Broadband and phone provider iPrimus is offering 1GB of data and a free USB modem on a mobile broadband plan for just $15 a month.

Mobile wireless broadband is perfect for checking your email, finding your way with Google Maps, or making cheap or free phone calls with Skype while away from home.

Light internet users who only want to check their Facebook page, browse their favourite news sites and send the occasional email might also find this plan ideal, as there is no need for a landline and set up is simple.

iPrimus offers a free USB modem on a $15 a month plan on a 24-month contract. Customers who prefer a shorter contract can opt for 12 months instead and pay just $49 for the modem.

It's important to note that excess data is charged at $0.03 per MB, to a maximum of 2000MB ($60). Most mobile broadband providers charge for excess data, although Optus and Virgin will slow your connection down instead.

There is also a $9.95 fee to cover the cost of postage and packaging for the modem.

Coverage is only available to areas located within Optus 3G/HSDPA coverage areas. In order to find out if good coverage is available in your area, give iPrimus a call on 1300 137 794.
