If you are wondering how to set up your Belong modem, then this article is for you. Below, we will walk you through the process step-by-step so that you can get connected to the internet as soon as possible.
Turn on your NBN connection box
One of the first things that you need to do is to turn on your NBN connection box. To do this, simply locate the power cord that is connected to the back of the box and plug it into an electrical outlet. Once the box is plugged in, press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the light on the front of the box turns green.
Just keep in mind that an NBN connection box is only provided if your connection technology is FTTN, FTTC, or HFC. If you have another type of connection technology, then you will need to use a different type of modem. In this case, get in touch with Belong to confirm which type of modem you need to use.
Connect your Belong modem
Now that your connection box is turned on, it's time to connect your Belong modem. To do this, take the grey Ethernet cable that came in the box with your modem and plug one end into the "UNI-D" port on the back of the modem. Then, take the other end of the cable and plug it into the "UNI-D" port on the back of your connection box. Make sure that you are plugging the cable into the right ports on both devices, as this is necessary for a successful connection. If you are unsure which ports to use, refer to the user manual for your modem or connection box.
Connect your modem to a power outlet as well
The next thing you need to do is connect your modem to the power outlet and plug it into your telephone wall socket. Make sure that the cables are correctly plugged in and that the power light is on. Once your modem is powered on, please wait a few minutes for it to connect to the network. More often than not, this will take a few minutes but in some cases, it may take up to an hour. In terms of the latter, there may be a problem with your connection and you will need to troubleshoot accordingly.
Check your modem's lights
Once your modem is connected, you should see a few lights on the front panel. The "power" light should be green, the "internet" light should be green, and the "Wi-Fi" light should be blinking. Green power light indicates that your modem is receiving power and a green internet light means that your modem is connected to the internet. The blinking Wi-Fi light indicates that your wireless network is active and working. If you see any red lights, this usually indicates an error. In this case, you will need to troubleshoot accordingly.
- Common problems encountered
One of the most common problems people face when trying to set up their Belong modem is that the internet light does not turn green. If this happens to you, please check that all the cables are plugged in correctly and that the power light is on. If everything looks fine, then it is possible that there is an issue with your connection and you will need to troubleshoot accordingly.
Another common problem is that the Wi-Fi light does not blink. This usually indicates that there is an issue with your wireless network and you will need to troubleshoot accordingly. This means that you will need to check the password and SSID of your wireless network and make sure that they are correct. If you are still having trouble, you may need to reset your modem.
Finally, you may also encounter problems where your modem is not receiving power. In this case, please check that the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet and that the power light is on. If you are still having trouble, you may need to reset your modem. When you do this, please make sure that you follow the instructions carefully as a reset can oftentimes resolve many issues.
- Resetting your modem
If you have tried all of the above and you are still having trouble connecting to the internet, then you may need to reset your modem. To do this, you will need to press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Once your modem has been reset, please wait a few minutes for it to connect to the network. From there, you should be able to connect to the internet without any issues.
Configure your WiFi settings
The next step is to configure your WiFi settings. To do this, you will need to open up a web browser and type in the following address: 192.168.0.254 This will take you to the Belong configuration page. From here, you can change your WiFi password and SSID (name). As much as possible, you have to use a password that is at least eight characters long and contains a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. This will ensure that your wireless network is secure. Once you have changed your WiFi password, be sure to click on the "Apply" button to save your changes.
Connect your devices to the WiFi network
Once you have configured your WiFi settings, you can now connect your devices to the network. Depending on the type of device you are using, the process may be slightly different. For most devices, you will need to open up the WiFi settings and look for your network SSID (name). Once you have found it, simply enter the password and you should be able to connect. Once you are connected, you should be able to access the internet.
