Amazon Prime Video is one of the pay TV channels you can enjoy in Australia. The service comes free as a perk of an Amazon Prime membership. The all-in-one subscription service will cost you around $6.99 a month or $59 a year. On top of Amazon Prime Video, prime members can also enjoy free Prime Music, Twitch Prime, Prime Reading and Amazon Drive and Prime Photos.

Amazon Prime Video was launched in Australia a  year earlier than Amazon Prime. It was available at 42.99 a month but is not free for Prime members. It is the most affordable streaming service in Australia and is quite cheaper than Netflix which is $14/month for HD, Stan TV at $10/month and Foxtel Now at $25/month. Amazon Prime Video supports 4K streaming, allows users to enjoy offline viewing and can be enjoyed by three devices all at once.

The Avengers

The Avengers is one of the best movies you can watch over and over again via Amazon Prime Video. The movie is the beginning of one of the most epic journeys in the Marvel Universe. Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and Captain America, all in one movie for you to enjoy at the comfort of your home in your favourite devices. It's A powerhouse not to be missed.

There were initial doubts on whether the movie will be a success, with all the big stars, in one movie. Although the team -ups came on a later date in the comics, the Avengers did work and director Joss Whedon proved all critics wrong by leading all these superheroes into blockbuster hits.

Knives Out

If intrigue, foul play, entertainment and a few glimpses of Chris Hemsworth is your definition of a good time, the movie Knives Out is one of the best movies for you. The mystery behind the death of novelist Harlan Thrombey, found dead in his study after his 85th birthday party.

Private Eye Benoit Blanc comes to the rescue, played by Daniel Craig add interest to the queer family. With the whole family as the suspects, the twists and turns of the movie, before the grand reveal of who the killer offers a spectacular fun to watch. With a fantastic cast leaving your head spinning and wondering, watching Knives out over and over again is an entertaining movie to spend your free time with.

The movie was released in 2019 featuring Ana de Armas, Christ Evans. Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis and Joseph Gordon Levitt. The movie won the Satellite Award for Best Ensemble Best Motion Picture in 2020. It was directed by Rian Johnson and earned a total of 309.2 million in the box office.

A Quiet Place

One of the most unique, heart-pumping and entertaining alien invasion movies so far, that surprised a lot of critics, the movie A Quiet Place is indeed a surprise for many. The movie features a small family, moving on in a world invaded by aliens. Living is difficult but a family that is barely surviving, with a death of the loved one still clouding their lives, and a baby on the way -  a new world where noise is forbidden is indeed a new take on the alien movie genre.

Featuring the Abbott family led by real life couples Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, the movie easily took cinemas by storm and earned over 340 million in the box office. It was followed by another post-apocalyptic movie, A Quiet Place 2 that was released a couple of years after.

Hereditary

For a night of horror and excitement, one of the best movie offerings available in Amazon Prime Video is the movie Hereditary.  It is Ari Aster's directorial debut that features a compelling story on family battles, claustrophobic crafting and Oscar worthy acting.  A woman in grief following the death of her mother, she tries to get closer to her family, but not with conflicts that make you want to keep the lights on at night.

With the horrific events waiting to be discovered as this story unfolds on your home's television screen, be sure to have someone beside you as the horrors of the story slowly into the movie. Aster's directorial approach to the movie brings you to one horrific event to another, with the possibilities of shaking your soul.

The horror drama was released in 2018 featuring Toni Collette, Milly Shapiro,  Alex Wolff, Ann Dowd and Gabriel Byrne. The movie earned $80.2 million in the box office with a production budget of 10 million.

How to Train Your Dragon

Bond with the kids on a Friday night to welcome a  weekend of fun, adventure and family with How to Train Your Dragon. It is one of the best takes on dragons, for a  movie intended for kids and the not so adults. The regal that came with the mystery of the dragons was modified perfectly for a child's mind, without compromising interest and authenticity we all enjoyed in the story.

On top of the captivating creatures and the different characters featured in the movie, the funny and thoughtful story offers plenty of lessons, both for the young and old.

Released in 2010, the movie featured the voices of cast members Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson and Jonah Hill. Two movies were released after the first How to Train Your Dragon franchise, one in 2014 and one in 2019 and offered a more mature, yet still child friendly approach on family, friendship and courage - the main lessons you'll enjoy in all three movies.
