At the moment I am with Big Pond.
I am looking to change, currently I am paying $69.95 per month with some sort of deal with the landline, I am not sure what that is. I have 4 PCs in my house with a wi fi connection. 2 out of the four belong to my children who mainly use it for home work and are on Face book and surf the web. My wife uses hers mainly for her business which is typing and myself, I like to also surf the web check the latest news and sport. The 4 of us all use Email.

With four computers in the house, you will need a fast broadband plan with enough data for everybody. I am not sure what your current deal with BigPond but I am sure there is a plan on our site that can beat it!
The best way to find out how much data you are currently using is to take a look at your bill. Depending on what plan you are on, you may find that on some months you have exceeded your data allowance and have been charged an excess fee.
I imagine it is difficult to get everyone to stop using the internet once you have exceeded your download limit, so I would suggest looking at plans that slow down (this is known as shaping or throttling) your broadband connection after you have used up all your broadband quota for the month.
It also sounds as if you will be using all your data during peak times, so make sure you choose a plan with plenty of data available when you want to use it.
You haven't said whether you are in a metropolitan area or a regional area, so I will suggest a few great value ADSL2+ bundles for your family. The Internet Service Providers (ISPs) you call will be able to tell you whether these deals are available, from your home phone number.
iPrimus has an ADSL2+ Starter Plan with 40GB (split 20GB in the peak time, 20GB in the off peak) available for $29.95 a month, when bundled with a $29.95 home phone service, which adds up to $59.90 a month. On a 24-month contract, iPrimus will waive the set up fee and give you a discount on a modem, if you need one.
Give iPrimus a call on 1300 137 794 for more information on this plan.
iiNet is another ISP with good bundle deals. iiNet has a 100GB ADSL2+ plan for $49.95, when bundled with a $29.95 a month home phone service, which means you would be paying $79.90 a month. This is split 50GB in the peak and 50GB in the off-peak, so there would be more than enough data available for everybody.
iiNet will also let you add a VoIP plan onto this bundle, which could save you money if you make a lot of local and national phone calls. You can also rent or buy BoB, iiNet's multi-tasking VoIP telephone handset and Wi-Fi modem. Call iiNet on 1300 106 571.
If you are looking for unbeatable value, you should look at TPG's bundle deal. For just $19.99, you get 100GB, split 30GB in the peak time and 70GB in the off peak, when bundled with a $30 home phone service. That's broadband and line rental for $49.99 a month. We can sign you up to a TPG plan, so give us a call on 1300 106 571.
If none of these deals are available to you, ask the ISP to explain what they can offer to you on an ADSL1 plan.
