Hi, I am looking into a naked broadband plan for home.
We do not use the internet a great deal and only need a minimal plan for emails, facebook and realestate.com etc etc (the bare essentials). Are there any naked DSL plans for less than $50 a month and also any with no lock in contract. I have been looking at Optus as well. What ISP would you recommend over another and what plan would you suggest would suit my needs best. Your help much appreciated. Thanks.

There are a few Naked DSL plans for under $50, including Dodo, iPrimus, Spin, TPG, Internode and Optus. If a month-to-month contract is important to you, I would suggest Internode's Home Naked DSL Extreme 10GB plan, for $49.95 a month.
You can give us a call on 1300 106 571 for this plan. However, Internode will only be able to offer this plan if you are already paying for a home phone line, as Internode requires an active line to start the service. Internode has a great reputation for customer service and has a lot of satisfied customers.
If this is not the case, I would recommend Dodo, which offers 10GB (5GB on peak and 5GB off peak) for $49.99 a month on a month-to-month contract. Call Dodo on 1300 136 793 for more information on this plan.
Optus currently has some great deals, including 120GB for $49.99 a month, when bundled with a mobile phone plan. You would need to sign up to a 24-month contract for this deal. Give Optus a call on 1300 137 897 to discuss the best plan for you.
Although Naked DSL will save you having to pay for a phone line, you may find a bundle deal is actually cheaper. TPG offers 10GB (5GB on peak, 5GB off peak) for $9.99 when bundled with a $30 phone line. This would give you 10GB for just $39.99 and even if you never pick up the phone, this is still a good deal. You will need to sign up to a six-month or an 18-month contract for this deal.
You can call us on 1300 106 571 for more details on TPG plans.
