No contract and short-term broadband ADSL2+ plans

With rental properties gaining popularity in Australia’s housing market, it’s understandable that many Australians would prefer a short-term contract to a long-term broadband contract. ISPs are constantly releasing new broadband plans, and there is also talk of new broadband infrastructure being rolled out across Australia. You may not want to be left behind while you see out your 24-month contract before you can sign up to a better deal.

Many providers offer either no fixed-term or six-month commitment periods. While they may require you to pay a higher setup fee than if you were to opt for a longer contract period, it may be better just to pay the extra sum in return for more flexibility. The cost of a higher setup fee will almost certainly be cheaper than having to pay a cancellation fee or even a relocation fee if you are moving to a new home.

Below, we have compiled some of the best ADSL2+ standalone, bundled and Naked DSL plans which will allow you to move to a better deal in the short term.

TPG six-month ADSL2+ Home Phone Bundle Plans

Customers who are eligible for a phone service with TPG will not only receive a massive discount on line rental, but you can also opt for a short six-month contract for a setup fee of only $99.95 (modem not included).

The bundle plans start at $39.99 per month for 3GB+7GB, with the higher end plans offering a huge 500GB download for only $69.99 per month.

TPG 6-month Naked ADSL2+ plans

Customers who already have an active phone line connected but no longer need it or would like to use a  VoIP service instead, can sign up to TPG’s Naked DSL plans on a six-month contract. The setup cost is $149.95 (modem not included).

Unfortunately there is a 12-month minimum term contract with TPG’s standalone ADSL2+ plans.

iiNet

iiNet customers can enjoy the freedom of a no fixed-term contract either with a standalone ADSL2+ service, with a home phone and broadband bundle package or with a Naked DSL service. Customers who sign up to a Naked DSL plan will need to pay a once off setup cost of $150 (normally $79.95 on a 24-month contract). iiNet has recently released some highly competitive ADSL2+ and Naked DSL plans.

Netspace

Netspace offers customers plenty of flexibility with a choice between a no fixed-term, a six-month, a 12-month or a 24-month contract for any of their ADSL plans. Customers who choose to BYO modem on a bundle, Naked DSL or stand alone plan will need to pay a $99 setup on a six-month contract, or a $149 setup on a no fixed-term contract.
