• With TPG? Moving house?
  • Check whether a TPG connection is available at your new house.
  • Let TPG know as soon about your move as soon as you can.

Relocating to a new home involves packing and moving to unpacking and settling in. Amidst all these activities, ensuring a smooth transition for your Internet connection might not be at the forefront of your mind, but it's an important consideration.

When moving, one of the key steps is to check the available NBN technology at your new address. While you can handle the physical aspects of moving yourself, transferring your NBN connection is a different matter. It's not a task you should attempt on your own.

If you're planning to relocate and wish to bring your Internet connection with you, here's how you can do it with TPG.

Already a customer?

Moving your TPG services to a new location is simple and convenient. TPG can handle the transfer of your Internet and home phone line while you focus on preparing for your move.

To ensure a smooth transition, it's important to notify TPG of your move date as soon as possible. The earlier you inform TPG, the better. Additionally, there is no charge for standard installation when you move with TPG home Internet.

You have three options for submitting a moving home request to TPG:

  1. Submit a request online through this link.
  2. Call TPG’s Moving Home Team at 1300 865 124.
  3. Request a call from TPG’s Moving Home Team through this link.

Switching to TPG?

Moving your connection to TPG at your new residence is typically an easy process, often completed in just a few minutes. Once your order is processed and your new modem arrives (if applicable), simply plug it in to establish a connection.

The installation time for your TPG connection varies depending on a few factors, primarily the type of service available at your new address.

For NBN Bundle services, installation typically takes less than 10 business days, though some cases may require longer.

For FTTB Bundle services, installation usually falls within the range of 10 to 20 business days.

To ensure a smooth transition, it's important to inform TPG of your move-in date as soon as it's confirmed. This allows us to arrange for installation prior to your move-in date, minimising any potential downtime.

While you're arranging your move, it's a good opportunity to explore new plan options. If you've been on the same plan for an extended period or you're transitioning to a new technology type, you may be eligible for a better deal or faster speeds.

Will there be any downtime?

If you're staying with TPG and both your old and new homes are NBN-connected, you shouldn't experience any downtime. Simply take your modem and home phone from one location to the other.

If a technician is needed, it's advisable to book your move date early to ensure they can visit on your preferred day and get you connected without delay.

However, if you're moving to a new development or transitioning to or from the NBN, it may take longer to get you connected. To minimise downtime, it's best to research and organise your utilities as soon as possible.
