Compare Broadband compares plans from the above providers and can connect you with our participating providers. Not all plans available from these providers are compared by Compare Broadband and depending on your location or service availability not all plans may be available to all customers.

There are two main plans offered by NBN providers: NBN residential plans and NBN business plans. Business plans can be a bit more expensive compared to home internet plans so you're probably wondering what makes them different from a regular NBN connection and is it worth it to invest in.

At Compare Broadband, we will help you compare NBN business plans speeds, perks and extras to help you choose the right option for your team.

What are the Best Business NBN Plans?

NBN Business plans are for people who own and manage small businesses. All you need for your business to get an NBN Business plan is a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).

Although it is not mandatory to get an NBN plan for businesses, investing in business NBN can be advantageous for you for the following reasons:

  • Respond faster to clients
  • Collaborate and meet online seamlessly especially with remote teams and contractors
  • Access cloud service effortlessly
  • Quickly solve Internet issues that impact your business

You can also use residential NBN plans to run your small business. However, features such as priority support or quick response times might be worth the added cost if you want exemplary internet service.

Best Business NBN Providers

Businesses large and small can choose from a variety of internet plans. This overview shows you what the top NBN providers in Australia have to offer businesses. If you’re looking for a broadband provider to service your business – whether it’s from home, the office, or anywhere in between – here is a list of telcos marketing services in your direction:

A stable and reliable internet connection is the backbone of any business. A poor NBN plan can lead to an unproductive team which leads to financial hurdles and frustration. The top two Business NBN providers that were rated five stars in terms of their network performance are Telstra and Optus.

While business owners may have different priorities, our ratings can help them determine which telcos keep their customers happy in various categories.

Telstra NBN Business Plans

Telstra's small business NBN plan starts at $100 per month and includes unlimited data for both ADSL and NBN customers. New customers will be provided with a Telstra Smart Business Modem and 4G mobile broadband backup.

Plans are offered on a month-to-month payment. You will need to pay the remainder of your modem cost if you cancel your service within 24 months.

  • NBN customers get Standard Plus (NBN50) speeds as a standard but can upgrade to Premium (NBN100) speeds if they are eligible.
  • Bundles of calling packs and business broadband start at $125 per month and include unlimited data at NBN50 speeds, phone lines, unlimited standard local, national, and mobile calls, and unlimited calls to select countries.
  • All plans include a static IP address as well as 24/7 support.

Optus Business NBN Plans

Optus offers NBN business plans that are almost identical to its residential options. This provider even offers entertainment bundles with them.

You have an option between an NBN 50 plan or NBN 100 plan, either as an Internet Everyday Plan (or an Internet Entertainer Plan). The Entertainer comes with a Fetch MightyBox and a premium channel package upgrade. Both plan tiers include an Optus Sports subscription.

Plans also include the Optus Ultra WiFi Modem, which comes with 4G backup and speeds up to 12Mbps down and 1Mbps upwards. The modem is free if you stay with Optus for at least 36 months. Otherwise, you will need to pay $252 for the modem.

Phone line service may also be included in your NBN Business plan. You can add $10 to your monthly bill for unlimited national calls. An additional $10 will allow unlimited international calls to 25 countries.

Compare NBN Business Plans

If you run a business from home and need faster upload speeds and reliable uptime, then an NBN Business plan is the best option. The cost of a business NBN plan will depend on how much you use the internet for your daily team activities.

If most of your activities include surfing, checking emails, communicating with your team, and uploading/downloading small-size files, a home internet connection should be sufficient. If you need to download large files/uploads frequently, hold teleconferences in HD and meet with clients every day, then a business NBN connection that is at least 50Mbps should be sufficient.
