Kogan NBN plans
Kogan Internet, founded by Ruslan Kogan and based in Melbourne, provides NBN and 4G home internet services. It offers various NBN speed tiers, including the fastest NBN 250 and NBN 1000 plans for HFC and FTTP homes.
To remain competitive, Kogan Internet promises to refund double the price difference if customers find a better deal on the same NBN plan from an approved major provider. Additionally, Qantas Frequent Flyers can link their accounts to earn one Qantas Point for every $2 spent with Kogan Internet.

Types of Kogan Internet plans
Kogan Internet offers a range of plans on its service, including:
Kogan Internet NBN fixed-line internet plans
The majority of Australian homes can qualify for a Kogan Internet NBN plan, especially those connected through NBN technologies like Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP), Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC), Fibre-to-the-Curb (FTTC), Fibre-to-the-Building (FTTB), or Fibre-to-the-Node (FTTN).
Kogan Internet provides a range of plans including NBN 25/5, NBN 50/20, NBN 100/20, NBN 250/25, and NBN 1000 for eligible addresses.
Kogan 4G home internet plans
Kogan Internet extends its service with a standalone 4G home Internet plan using the Vodafone 4G mobile network.
This option is available to households within the Vodafone 4G coverage area, allowing them to easily subscribe to Kogan's prepaid home internet plan, which requires recharge every 30 or 90 days.
What speeds are on offer?
Kogan Internet stands out for its competitive pricing rather than an abundance of features, prioritising affordability over extras like a home phone service. However, all Kogan NBN and home internet plans boast unlimited data. Here are the expected evening download and upload speeds for Kogan Internet plans:
Plan | Download speed | Upload speed |
NBN 25/5 | 25 Mbps | 4.25 Mbps |
NBN 50/20 | 50 Mbps | 17 Mbps |
NBN 100/20 | 90 Mbps | 17 Mbps |
NBN 250/25 | 200 Mbps | 25 Mbps |
NBN 1000 | 250 Mbps | 42.5 Mbps |
4G Home Internet | 16 Mbps | 2 Mbps |
It's important to note that the maximum download speed for Kogan's home internet plan is 20Mbps. Kogan Internet advises that this plan may not be suitable for 4K streaming and possibly not optimal for online gaming.
Kogan Internet plan features
Kogan Internet plans focus on affordability rather than being feature-packed. It does not include home phone services, pay TV bundles, or exclusive content. Despite this, there are two standout benefits:
- Customers earn one Qantas Point for every $2 spent with Kogan Internet.
- The Kogan Internet Price Pledge promises to refund double the price difference if a comparable plan from an approved major telco (such as Telstra, Optus, TPG, Dodo, iiNet, Internode, and iPrimus) is found at a widely advertised rate.
To qualify, customers must maintain a Kogan Internet NBN plan for at least one month. Successful claims result in a Kogan.com voucher valid for three months. This offer is limited to one claim per customer.
Kogan Internet plan modems
Kogan Internet offers cost-effective plans partly because these plans are BYO modem arrangements. Kogan suggests that most existing NBN-compatible modem-routers or routers from other providers can seamlessly integrate with a Kogan NBN plan.
Alternatively, customers can purchase the Kogan Internet modem-router directly from Kogan.com, which is a rebranded TP-Link Archer VR500v.
The Kogan Internet Modem supports all NBN technology types and delivers Wi-Fi 5 with speeds up to 300Mbps on 2.4GHz and up to 867Mbps on 5GHz. It includes four gigabit Ethernet ports for wired devices and a USB 2.0 port compatible with 4G USB dongles.
For customers signing up for a Kogan 90-day home internet plan, they receive the TP-Link Archer MR600 V2 Wi-Fi modem-router. This model features three gigabit LAN ports, dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (5GHz and 2.4GHz), matching the speeds of the Kogan Internet Modem, and includes a micro-SIM card slot.
