Optus has revealed its NBN plans, which will start from $39.99 when bundled with a mobile plan.

Optus is the biggest Internet Service Provider (ISP) yet to announce their prices for the National Broadband Network (NBN), which is still in its trial stages.

The plans, which will all be offered on a month-to-month basis, will be available from November 21. Optus is offering a free Wi-Fi gateway and free installation on all NBN plans.

In addition to the standalone plans listed in the table below, Optus is offering three bundled plans with a home phone, starting from $64.94 for 12GB (split 50GB  peak, 70GB off peak) plus $30 of included calls to local, national 13/1300 numbers and Australian mobiles.

On the $109 Fusion plan, customers will receive 500GB of data and unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in Australia, while the $129 Fusion plan offers 1,000GB plus unlimited calls.

The prices undercut Optus' rival iiNet, which also unveiled NBN plans recently. iiNet plans start from $49.95 for 40GB at the 12Mbps speed on a 24-month contract. However, Optus customers will need to sign up to a $19 a month post-paid mobile plan in order to get this deal.

The mid-tier plans offer better value than iiNet, such as the $59.99 120GB plan at the 25Mbps speed. iiNet offers 40GB for $54.95.

But iiNet's biggest plan is 1,000GB (split 500GB on peak, 500GB off peak) at the 100Mbps speed for $99.95, which is double the data offered by Optus at the same price point.
