NBN Co will increase most of its monthly wholesale plan prices from 1 July, which will impact a range of popular residential Internet plans.
The price adjustments are aligned with NBN Co’s regulatory obligations under its Special Access Undertaking. On average, the increases sit just below the annual percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Among the affected plans, the 12/1 Mbps (non-basic bundled offer) will rise by $0.90 to $33.47 per month. The 500 to ~1,000/50 Mbps plan will increase by $1.71 to $73.93. However, the 12/1 Mbps (basic bundled offer) will remain unchanged at $12.01 per month.
While residential plans will see modest increases, NBN Co is also introducing previously announced wholesale discounts for certain business offerings. These changes are intended to better support businesses with higher upload requirements and greater service demands.
What about business fibre plans?
Business Fibre plans, originally introduced to cater to the needs of smaller businesses, will continue to offer enhanced bandwidth and service options. Uptake has shown that many customers are upgrading from residential plans to these business-grade services.
The 250/100 Mbps Business Fibre plan, bundled with the Essentials package, will receive a further discount from the previously announced $61.933 to $61.53 per month.
While most pricing updates will take effect from 1 July, the new business discounts will apply from 1 September.
