If you are living in Sydney and looking for the fastest internet you can get, then cable might be your best answer. Cable broadband is an internet service that can run at speeds of up to 100mb/s. This far surpasses ADSL2+ which runs at speeds of up to 20mb/s. Mind you that 8-10mb/s is quite fast and more than enough to be downloading or streaming movies. Cable internet in Sydney is quite popular so sometimes availability is scarce, which means that you will need to contact the provider you want to go with to make sure the plan is available in your area. At the moment there are only two Cable internet providers in Sydney. Telstra & Optus.
