There are four different NBN speed tiers for broadband customers to choose from when they sign up to an NBN plan (including when they change to a new NBN plan). NBN speed tiers vary in price as well as speed. The four NBN speed tiers available to you in Milsons Point are the following…
NBN 12 - also referred to as the Basic Evening Speed plan. The NBN 12 plan is the cheapest of the NBN speed tiers, which makes it a great option for the budget conscious; but be aware that it’s the cheapest NBN speed tier specifically because it’s the slowest NBN speed tier. However, if you really only use your internet for light browsing, or checking the odd email, and you don’t want to be paying for extra speed that you don’t need, then this might just be the perfect NBN speed tier for you. The Basic Evening Speed plan gives you a maximum download speed of 12Mbps.
NBN 25 - also referred to as the Standard Evening Speed plan. The NBN 25 plan offers you a maximum download speed of 25Mbps. If you’re new to the NBN and you’re a bit unsure what NBN speed tier is the right one for you, the Standard Plus Evening Speed plan is, for many, a good middle of the road NBN speed tier to start out with. And if the NBN 25 doesn’t work out for you, then you can always upgrade to the next speed tier and see if NBN 50 is more to your taste.
NBN 50 - also referred to as the Standard Plus Evening Speed plan. The NBN 50 plan gives you a maximum download speed of 50Mbps. Like the NBN 25 plan, the Standard Plus Evening Speed plan is a great middle of the range option, especially if you’ve found that the NBN 25 plan isn’t quite quick enough to accommodate your internet usage.
NBN 100 - also referred to as the Premium Evening Speed plan. The NBN 100 plan gives you a maximum download speed of 100Mbps, making it the fastest of all the NBN speed tiers, but at a price; it’s also, invariably, the most expensive NBN speed tier. However, if your home or office requires a speedy level of streaming, uploading and downloading - or a copious amount of good quality video calls - then a Premium Evening Speed plan may just be worth your while.
