FAQs

Does Sanctuary Point have NBN?

Sanctuary Point now has access to the National Broadband Network (NBN), with the construction of the infrastructure already complete. NBN Co's fibre-to-the-node technology is now available to homes and businesses in Sanctuary Point, providing fast and reliable broadband internet.

Is NBN worth the money?

The answer depends on your needs and usage. If you're a heavy internet user, then NBN is definitely worth the investment. The speeds are much faster than ADSL, and you'll be able to do things like stream HD video and download large files without any issues. However, if you only use the internet for basic things like checking email and browsing the web, then an upgrade to the NBN may not be that significant.

What are my alternatives to NBN?

Mobile broadband is a good alternative if you don't want to be tied down to a fixed-line connection. However, speeds can be variable and you'll usually have a data limit, so it's not ideal for heavy users. If you're not in an area that has access to the NBN, then one other option is a satellite connection, which is available nationwide. Satellite broadband is perfect for those in rural and remote areas, but the speeds can be slower than other types of broadband and like mobile broadband, there is usually a data limit as well.

What happens if I don't want NBN?

You can try the alternatives to the NBN if you don't want to upgrade, but eventually, the old copper network will be switched off and you'll need to move to the NBN. The good news is that there's plenty of time to make the switch – you won't be pressured into upgrading and you can keep your current broadband service until you're ready to move.

Are you eligible for a FREE fibre upgrade?

The government is making 1.5 million Australian homes and businesses eligible for a speed upgrade to FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), which offers greater speed and reliability. Selected towns and suburbs with FTTC and FTTN are eligible for the upgrade with an eligible high speed nbn plan.
